SUMMARY: Both the popularity of TWITTER and the resurgence of ALT ELECTRONIC MUSIC (AEM) happened around the same time in the early 2010's. Many AEM artists, labels and fans have been on Twitter for 10+ years. TWITTER is a very valuable resource in your MUSICVERSE!
TWITTER is a great place for short and quick news bites. And super cool you can put and Image BUT also a link in your tweet (Instagram does not allow). And there are 300 million active users. Twitter IPO - November 2013 and took off from there.
As I understand - Synthwave/Electronic Music took off in 2010/2011.
Drive is a 2011 American action-drama film and so many talk about the (few) tracks that motivated them to join the Synthwave revolution.
